SCANDIC LOVER MONKEY
ORIGINS & ETHICS

Curation Crew

Scandic Lover Monkey was established in Stockholm by three Scandinavian design historians and textile conservators exhausted by the holiday season's relentless wave of planned obsolescence and single-use packaging.

A Counterweight to Disposable Festive Retail

Every December, billions of dollars are spent on items destined for storage bins and trash dumps by spring. We believe gift-giving is a sacred gesture of human affection that deserves physical durability and aesthetic dignity.

Our mission is to reconnect thoughtful givers with small European family workshops, rural master weavers, high-fire ceramicists, and generational beekeepers. We prove that buying fewer, better things transforms the holidays into a restorative winter ritual.

Our Three Immutable Rules of Curation

1. Zero Artificial Subsidies: No company can buy their way onto our lists. We refuse affiliate ad programs and commission structures that influence editorial objectivity.

2. The Repairability Test: If a household item or toy cannot be disassembled, reglued, resanded, or mended with hand tools, it cannot be recommended.

3. Direct Maker Benefit: We champion supply chains where the lion's share of purchase funds directly reaches the craftspeople, preserving essential cultural trades.
